Thoughts on Spring Movement
Notice the activity of the plants and your environment. While winter is a time of going inward spring is a time of upward and outward movement. This is the time of year to wake up with the sun. Brisk walks are ideal movement for Spring. Make sure to warm the body first before stretching for optimal benefits of the tendons.
Because of the liver energy’s role in circulation in the body our yoga practice focuses especially on gently moving the lymphatic system of the body to encourage optimal circulation in the body. We will also incorporate gentle twists to gently massage the internal organs. Because the liver meridian is located on the inner leg and up the midline of the body and the gall bladder channel runs down the lateral side of the body we will do postures that impact both sides of the body to help the body move its energy up and out.
